Coventry Teams League: Interesting hands

We won our match last night convincingly 82-24, just 3 imps shy of making it 12-0 in VPs!

The first half was a dull affair, ending 11-13. The second half though, threw up 2 interesting boards. How would you bid these 2 sets of hands?

Well, tough to bid them without looking contrived, but I think we would go:

    1C – 1S ; natural or balanced – diamonds or min balanced
    2S – 4D ; natural reverse – solid suit playable opposite a singleton
    4NT – 5C ; heart cuebid, expresses doubt about spades – LTTC
    6D.

    1H – 2H ; natural – constructive
    2NT – 3H ; short suit GT in clubs – not interested
    3S – 4H ; slam try (cuebid) – still not interested
Now I think north knows south doesn’t have king of diamonds and would have to have every other honour in the other suits to not have some backup in hearts, so he can bid keycard and bid the small slam?
