Pesta Sukan, TD Course
Pesta Sukan wasn’t that good an outing, but I guess I did the best I could when I was playing.
Just finished TD theory test yesterday, practical is this saturday. Hopefully I’ll be able to pass!

I misdeclared this hand while practising with Jason:
|
|
| West | North | East | South |
| 1♥ | 1♠ | 2♣ | p |
| 2 | p | 3♥ | X |
| p | p | p |
Lead was 9 of clubs. I took with the A, cleared the diamonds ending with a ruff in dummy, next I led a trump towards the K and it held, now I exited with a club and when the Q of spades was returned, covered by Q and A, Jack of spade and now S shows out, after the ruff the contract was doomed of course.
I should have perhaps tried to finesse against the T of hearts. From South’s double, it appears that he has 4 trumps, most likely ATxx. I can’t be hurt by spades from North, so the finesse should be right.
Edit: I took a second look, and realised that even if the finesse works, I might end up locking myself in my own hand.
From a teammatch I played with some other Singaporeans, I was partnering Kelvin Ng (smoz).

After 2 passes, you open 1S, LHO overcalls 1NT and you bid 2S. What would you do?
The other table’s result was 6SX=.

| West | North | East | South |
| p | 1♦ | 3♠ | 3NT |
| p | 4♦ | p | 4♠ |
| X | p | p | 5♦ |
| p | 5♥ | p | 6♦ |
| p | p | p |
Of course, I should have bid 6NT. W had a singleton S, but we still made after partner threw the T on the first round under the A.

How would you play 3S after a lead of the T of S?
